Twenty three co-workers in the Long Island area have come forward as the New Life 2019, LLC, to claim the largest Mega Millions jackpot in New York Lottery history.
Opting to remain anonymous the lucky group have voted to take the winnings in one lump sum payment of $262,213,914 and plan to spend the money on new houses, college funds for their children, and travel.
The prize comes from the draw on January 1st when their New York Lottery $5 Super Pack ticket and the winning numbers 34, 44, 57, 62, and 70, with Mega Ball number 14 hit the jackpot.
A spokesperson for the New Life 2019, LLC said the group play the lottery every week and that lots of crying, hugging, jumping around and ticket checking had gone on once they realised they had won.
It is also reported that the group plan to carry on working despite their new wealth because they view themselves as a family and not just co-workers.
The retailer who sold the winning ticket, Brookville Auto Service on Route 25A in Glen Head will also be in the money with a handy $10,000 bonus to be paid from the New York Lottery.
