Irish lotto prize goes unclaimed

Despite a last-ditch media blitz, the winner of a €50,000 EuroMillions prize in Cork Ireland did not come forward to claim their prize.

The unclaimed prize money will now go into central lottery funds where it will be used to promote and market the game or to top-up prizes in various draws.

The valuable ticket was purchased at O'Hare's Mace in Turners Cross on December 11th with the draw held on Tuesday, December 13th.

Unbelievably last year in Ireland an estimated €17m in unclaimed lottery and scratch card winnings went back into lottery funds.
